Urgent Care Opens at Beth Israel Lahey Health Care Center – Watertown
Watertown, MA - Today, Beth Israel Lahey Health announced that urgent care services are now available at the Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH) Care Center – Watertown. The site, located at 480 Pleasant Street, opened last year. In addition to urgent care, the care center also offers primary care and specialties including obstetrics and gynecology, orthopedics and radiology.
The urgent care services will be provided by physicians from Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians. Primary care is provided by BILH Primary Care clinicians and specialty services are provided by Mount Auburn Hospital clinicians.
“By expanding the BILH Care Center – Watertown to include urgent care, we are bringing high-quality emergency care into the community,” said Alex Barker, president, BILH Medical Group. “BILH has a goal to provide 70% of the care we deliver in the community within 10 years and projects like this will help make that goal a reality.”
“We have already seen the impact that this multi-specialty care center has to ensure patients can get timely care closer to home, and now with this addition, it provides an important local option for urgent care,” said Ed Huang, MD, president, Mount Auburn Hospital. “This urgent care center represents our commitment to building healthy communities.”
“We’re proud to open BILH Urgent Care – Watertown, which allows us to deliver high-quality care where patients often need it most – their community,” said Barb Masser, MD, director of ambulatory emergency medicine for the Department of Emergency Medicine – Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, medical director – HMFP Urgent Care. “Our urgent care is staffed by board-certified emergency medicine physicians, which means you can trust you’re receiving the highest standard of care for your urgent needs.”
As part of BILH's strategic plan, Blueprint 2030, BILH has set a goal to deliver 70 percent of the care it delivers in the community by 2030.
Patients can receive treatment for non-emergency, but urgent, injuries and illnesses at the urgent care center. Walk-ins are available, but patients are also encouraged to reserve an appointment online.
Hours of operation for urgent care are Monday – Friday, 9:00 am – 7:00 pm and Saturday – Sunday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.
