Primary Care, Urgent Care, or ER?

Choosing the right level of care can save you time and ensure you receive prompt treatment:

  • Primary Care: Ideal for routine check-ups, chronic condition management and non-urgent concerns like mild infections or medication refills. When same-day appointments are not available, your primary care physician (PCP) may suggest urgent care as an alternative. Many PCPs now offer telehealth options as well.
  • Urgent Care: The best option for most serious but non-life-threatening issues, such as flu symptoms, minor cuts needing stitches, sprains, or mild asthma attacks. Urgent care centers offer walk-in availability and extended hours, making them a convenient choice when primary care isn’t available. Consider calling ahead or reserving a spot online.
  • Emergency Room (ER): Go to the ER or call 911 for severe or life-threatening conditions such as chest pain, difficulty breathing, sudden weakness or confusion, severe injuries or uncontrolled bleeding.

If you are unsure, call one of our many BILH Urgent Care Centers or your Primar Care Physician to help guide you to the best option.

What To Expect When You Arrive

Online reservations are not appointments and due to the nature of our services, emergencies can arise which may result in patients being taken out of order.

Due to our advanced services, average visit time can range from 45 to 120 minutes depending on diagnostic testing required.

Some diagnostic testing and exams may be limited depending on your time of arrival.
