Experienced Healthcare Finance Leader Joins BILH Executive Team

Cambridge, MA — Scott Herndon, MBA, CPA, FACHE, has joined Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH) as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. In his new role, Herndon leads all aspects of the system’s finance function and the implementation of strategic initiatives to advance the system's mission, growth objectives, sustainability and financial goals.

Herndon has more than 25 years of experience in hospital and health system finance. Before joining Beth Israel Lahey Health, he spent nearly a decade at Ascension, where he held successive finance leadership roles, including most recently Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer – System & Strategic Finance and before that Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer – Operational Finance. He previously served as Chief Financial Officer at Kendall Regional Medical Center in Florida.

Herndon received his undergraduate degree in accounting from Auburn University and Master of Business Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is a certified public accountant and a fellow of the American College of Health Care Executives and is affiliated with a number of professional organizations, including the Healthcare Financial Management Association, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Medical Group Management Association.
