Beth Israel Lahey Health Celebrates 5 Years of Delivering Extraordinary Care

March 01, 2024

Cambridge, Mass. – Today, Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH) is marking its fifth anniversary as a health system. Founded on March 1, 2019, BILH is an integrated health system dedicated to creating healthier communities — one person at a time — through seamless care and ground-breaking science, driven by excellence, innovation and equity.

BILH brings together academic medical centers and teaching hospitals, community and specialty hospitals, primary and specialty care, behavioral health and home care services, and more than 4,700 physicians and 39,000 employees to care for more than 1.7 million patients in communities across Eastern Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire.

“When we embarked on this journey as a new system, we set out with the shared goal of transforming healthcare and expanding access to care for our patients and communities,” said Kevin Tabb, MD, president & CEO of BILH. “Over the past five years, we have taken meaningful steps to deliver on that vision by growing the care we offer across the system. None of this would be possible without our exceptional people, who have stepped up time and time again to ensure our patients receive the best care, even in the face of unprecedented challenges facing healthcare. As we look to the future, we recommit ourselves to our mission to deliver extraordinary care to all our patients.”

In the years ahead, BILH will continue to focus on implementing its multi-year strategic plan, Blueprint 2030, which defines who we are and what we are working to achieve for our patients and their families, for our employees and for the communities we serve: extraordinary care, closer to you, seamless and reimagined around all of our patients, fueled by innovation and discovery, and delivered by renowned and supported teams.
