Puneet Freibott, DNP, RN, FACHE Joins Beth Israel Lahey Health as Inaugural Chief Nursing Officer
Cambridge, MA – Today, Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH) announced that Puneet Freibott, DNP, RN, FACHE has joined BILH as the system’s first Chief Nursing Officer. In this newly created role, Freibott will serve as a member of BILH’s executive leadership team and help shape the future of clinical care across the system.
“Puneet’s experience as a nursing leader will help BILH advance our patient-focused culture,” said Rob Fields, MD, Chief Clinical Officer, BILH. “Puneet will spearhead BILH’s efforts to standardize, develop and ensure the appropriate translation of evidence-based care into daily practice, leading to highly efficient and effective delivery of quality patient care.”

Freibott has extensive and diverse leadership experience in nursing and hospital operations and a demonstrated record of accomplishment. Most recently, she served as Chief Operating Officer of University Medical Center New Orleans, where she helped strengthen clinical operations while supporting the standard of patient care delivery and fostering an empowered and engaged nursing staff. Puneet has served in executive leadership positions in Magnet-designated health care organizations for the last 27 years, including serving as CNO at HCA Houston Healthcare Medical Center & Specialty Hospitals and Tenet Park Plaza & Plaza Specialty Hospitals, both in Texas. She is passionate about developing and empowering teams to create effective and efficient sustainable care models for high-quality health care delivery.
Freibott earned both her bachelor of science in nursing and master’s degree in nursing leadership from the University of Texas Medical Branch. She received her doctorate in executive nursing leadership from the University of Texas Health and Science Center. She is also a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE), holds Nurse Executive Advanced Board Certification (NEA-BC) from the American Nurses Association, and contributes to the body of knowledge in adult critical care nursing as a Certified Critical Care Nurse (CCRN-K) through the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses.
