Cullen to Lead Largest Provider of Mental Health, Addiction Services in Eastern Massachusetts

BOSTON – Jennifer Cullen, MSW, is joining Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH) as president of Behavioral Services charged with leading the largest network of mental health and substance use disorder services in eastern Massachusetts. Cullen will begin her new role effective October 2.

Cullen has significant experience in behavioral health services and has served in both clinical and administrative leadership roles. She has worked in a variety of health care settings across New England, most recently as Corporate Director of Behavioral Health at Signet, Holyoke Medical Center.

“We are thrilled to welcome Jennifer to Beth Israel Lahey Health,” said Robert Fields, MD, Executive Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer, BILH. “We are confident her depth of clinical and leadership experience will allow us to continue providing vital mental health and addiction treatment services to families and individuals throughout a variety of facility and community-based settings.”

Prior to joining Signet Health, Cullen served as executive director of behavioral health at Parkland Medical Center/HCA in Derry, New Hampshire; and in various roles for New England Geriatrics, including regional program director of inpatient behavioral health for Massachusetts at Health Drive in West Springfield, program director at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, and psychiatric clinical coordinator at Saint Anne’s Hospital in Stoughton. She also previously worked as a social worker at The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. Cullen earned her Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire and her Master of Social Work from Hawaii Pacific University. She is expected to complete her Master of Business Administration degree from Southern New Hampshire University in spring 2024.

“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to lead BILH’s behavioral services network and continue providing the high-quality, evidenced-based services to patients that BILH is regarded for,” Cullen said. “At a time when mental health and addiction services are more critical than ever in Massachusetts, I look forward to working with BILH’s professional team of caregivers in fostering a progressive treatment approach to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals of all ages.” .

Cullen succeeds Hilary Jacobs, who retired this spring after nearly eight years as President of Behavioral Services.
