Beth Israel Lahey Health Opens New Breast Center in Plymouth
Beth Israel Lahey Health Breast Center–Plymouth Offers Full Range of Breast Care Services in the Community
Plymouth, MA – As part of its foundational mission to provide access to extraordinary care in the community, Beth Israel Lahey Health opened the Beth Israel Lahey Health Breast Center–Plymouth at 45 Home Depot Drive in Plymouth, just one mile from Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital–Plymouth. The new center offers the full range of breast care services, including mammography, ultrasound, breast biopsy, surgery consultation, and nurse navigator support.
“The opening of this state-of-the-art center allows us to provide the very best comprehensive breast care to the patients in our community,” said Michael Rowan, executive vice president for hospital and ambulatory services at BILH. “This new center offers the latest in breast health care by the best clinicians all with a singular focus: supporting the health and wellbeing of the patients we serve.”
The Beth Israel Lahey Health Breast Center–Plymouth is located in a new 6500 square foot building, with three mammography rooms staffed with a surgeon, nurse practitioner, registered nurse, and five radiologists. The facility is equipped with 3-D breast imaging and a wireless localization system which can offer a more comfortable experience for the patient. With a waiting area that can seat up to 40 people, the space was designed with the patients in mind and features a tranquil atmosphere with a welcoming waiting room and exam rooms.
“The services of the new center will be integrated with hospital-based care, providing a seamless experience for our patients,” said Kevin Coughlin, president of Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital–Plymouth. Those hospital-based services include MRI-guided biopsy, bone density testing and surgical services. “We are grateful to the members of our community and our supporters who helped make this center possible for residents of Plymouth and the surrounding areas.”
“We look forward to seeing our existing patients at our new facility and invite new patients to visit us to experience the latest innovations in breast health care,” said Robyn Sachs, MD, director of the Beth Israel Lahey Health Breast Center–Plymouth. “This new facility offers academic medicine-level care right here in Plymouth.”
