January 12, 2019

BOSTON – Kevin Tabb, MD, who will serve as Beth Israel Lahey Health's President and CEO, today announced the organizational structure and operating model that will position the new health care system to deliver on its commitments to ensuring patients have access to coordinated, high-quality, lower-cost care in the communities where they live and work. Tabb also announced members of Beth Israel Lahey Health's senior leadership team.

"With the creation of Beth Israel Lahey Health, we have an amazing opportunity to care for our communities in a new and better way," Tabb said. "To deliver on our promise to our patients, we will work together to expand access and provide extraordinary care  all while advancing medicine through discovery and education."

Effective March 1, Beth Israel Lahey Health's organizational structure and operating model will be driven by four deeply interconnected domains designed to advance meaningful partnerships across organizations, care settings, specialties, and geographies to ensure our patients receive the care they need in the communities where they live and work. They include:

  • A physician enterprise that encompasses the system's network of employed primary care and specialty physicians located throughout our region;

  • A hospital and ambulatory services group that includes world-class academic medical centers and teaching hospitals with affiliations with Harvard Medical School and Tufts University School of Medicine; leading community hospitals; a renowned orthopedics hospital; and comprehensive ambulatory centers;

  • A population health enterprise that embraces a new model of care to improve the health of all those we serve; the population health domain will include the system's clinically integrated network of affiliated providers and vital services, including behavioral health and home care services;

  • A robust network of administrative and operational services to advance strategic goals, both locally and at the system level, that offers expertise and standardized resources based on best practices.

Tabb also named some members of Beth Israel Lahey Health's senior leadership team, which includes individuals who have shaped the proud legacies of the new system's member organizations, as well as leaders from other prestigious organizations who share Beth Israel Lahey Health's vision for the future.

"Every member of the Beth Israel Lahey Health senior leadership team  those named today and those who will be named in the future  will bring to Beth Israel Lahey Health a demonstrated track record of leadership and innovative thinking," Tabb said.
