About Timothy Liesching, MD
Dr. Timothy Liesching is Chief Medical Officer at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center (LHMC), where he has practiced medicine for 13 years. He is the former President of the Medical Staff Association at LHMC, former Chair of the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, and sits on numerous LHMC committees, including the Board of Governors. Prior to joining LHMC, Dr. Liesching was a staff physician at Rhode Island, Miriam and Memorial Hospitals in Rhode Island, where he was also on the faculty of Brown Medical School. Prior to entering medical school, Dr. Liesching enjoyed a successful career in commercial banking at the Bank of Boston.
Recognized as a leader in the field of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Dr. Liesching is often an invited speaker at regional and national forums. He has mentored dozens of successful pulmonologists, and continues to do so as an Associate Professor at Tufts University School of Medicine. Dr. Liesching has been awarded for his contributions as a teacher and has published numerous original research articles and contributed to many others. He previously served on the Lahey Health System Board of Trustees.
Dr. Liesching received his medical degree from State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Science; completed his fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Rhode Island Hospital, affiliated with Brown Medical School; and completed his residency in General Internal Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, affiliated with Harvard Medical School.
