About Richard Fernandez
As President of Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital–Milton (BID Milton), Richard Fernandez leads the nonprofit, 100-bed acute care hospital, which has a complete complement of inpatient and outpatient health services, 24-hour emergency services and more than 400 physicians on staff.
Since joining BID Milton in 2017, Rich has overseen the expansion of high-quality, community-based care, including enhanced specialized surgical services and inpatient care. He was formerly Senior Vice President of Ambulatory Services for Brigham and Women's Health Care, where he was responsible for strategy, operations and financial performance. He was also previously Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Steward Health Care and Vice President, Primary Care and Ambulatory Operations for Cambridge Health Alliance.
Rich earned an undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master of Business Administration from Temple University.
He resides in Needham with his family.
