As Beth Israel Lahey Health’s Chief Nursing Officer, Puneet Freibott, DNP, RN, plays an instrumental role in fostering the system’s patient-focused culture and commitment to clinical excellence. In partnership with nursing and clinical teams across Beth Israel Lahey Health, Puneet leads initiatives to advance the nursing profession, leadership development and operational effectiveness and enhance the patient and colleague experience.

Puneet previously served as Chief Operating Officer of University Medical Center in New Orleans, where she helped strengthen clinical operations, enhance patient care delivery and foster an empowered and engaged nursing workforce. Puneet has served in executive leadership positions in Magnet-designated health care organizations for three decades, including as Vice President and Associate Chief Nurse at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis and Chief Nursing Officer at HCA Houston Healthcare Medical Center & Specialty Hospitals in Houston.

Puneet earned her bachelor of science degree in nursing and master’s degree in nursing leadership from the University of Texas Medical Branch. She received her doctorate in executive nursing leadership from the University of Texas Health and Science Center. She is also a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and holds Nurse Executive Advanced Board Certification from the American Nurses Association.
