About Peter Shorett

As Beth Israel Lahey Health’s Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Peter Shorett oversees the performance and strategic growth of the health system, which includes a network of 14 hospitals and over two dozen major health care facilities in Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire.

Peter has more than two decades of healthcare leadership experience, including previous leadership roles at BILH as Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer, as well as Chief Integration Officer, and has been responsible for the development and execution of Blueprint 2030, the health system’s long-range strategic plan. Prior to joining BILH in 2019, Peter was a senior partner at The Chartis Group, where he led numerous strategic consulting engagements over the course of 12 years for the nation's top health systems as the co-leader of the firm’s academic medicine practice. Peter served as a joint strategic advisor to the organizations that formed Beth Israel Lahey Health, playing a critical role in facilitating the creation of the system and leading early integration efforts. His work has focused on enterprise strategy, mergers and acquisitions, physician alignment, and primary care development and design.

Peter received his undergraduate degree from the University of California at Berkeley and his Master of Public Policy from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
