About Juan Fernando Lopera
As Chief Community and Health Impact Officer, Juan Fernando Lopera advances Beth Israel Lahey Health’s efforts to improve health outcomes by eliminating barriers to care, expanding access for all, and deepening community investments that address social determinants of health.
Before joining Beth Israel Lahey Health, Juan Fernando served as Vice President of the Public Plans Division and Business Diversity Officer at Point32Health, where he oversaw the Rhode Island Medicaid business, as well as marketing, community engagement and system-wide equity and inclusion initiatives. He previously served as Point32Health’s Director of Health Services and led medical cost management, provider contracting strategies, and analytics. Earlier in his career, Juan Fernando served as Director of Affordability Strategies at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts and in the Strategy & Operations practice at Deloitte Consulting.
Juan Fernando co-chairs the Massachusetts Health and Hospital Association’s Health Equity Committee and co-founded and chairs the Health Equity Compact. He is also a trustee of Stonehill College and a member of The Boston Foundation’s Latino Legacy Fund. He earned his undergraduate degree from the Carroll School of Management at Boston College.
