About Juan Fernando Lopera

Juan Fernando LoperaAs Chief Community and Health Impact Officer, Juan Fernando Lopera drives Beth Israel Lahey Health’s efforts to improve health outcomes by eliminating barriers to care, expanding access for all, and deepening community investments that address the social determinants of health.

Before joining BILH, Juan Fernando served as a vice president at Point32Health and key member of the public products team. In this role, he oversaw the organization’s Rhode Island Medicaid business, as well as marketing and community engagement for public plan products and workforce engagement through inclusion and belonging initiatives. Previously, he served as Director of Health Services, overseeing medical cost management, provider contracting strategies, and analytics. He also served as Director of Affordability Strategies at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts and worked in the Strategy & Operations practice at Deloitte Consulting.

Juan Fernando is a trustee of the Dimock Center and Stonehill College. He is also a co-founder and chair of the Massachusetts Health Equity Compact and co-chair of The Boston Foundation’s Latino Legacy Fund. He also serves on Eastern Bank’s Board of Advisors and the Massachusetts Health & Hospital Association’s Committee on Diversity, Health Equity & Inclusion. He earned his undergraduate degree from Boston College.
