About Alex Barker

As President of Beth Israel Lahey Health Medical Group, Alex Barker oversees operations for community-based primary and specialty care practices across Massachusetts.

Previously, Alex served as Chief Operating Officer of BILH Primary Care – South and Interim COO for the BILH Physician Enterprise overseeing ambulatory practices in multiple markets. Prior to joining BILH, Alex held numerous leadership roles within large health systems, including leading physician services for Lahey Health and operations for Duke University Medical Center Faculty Practices and Carolinas Medical Center – Northeast. While serving in the US Navy, Alex was a JAG attorney representing Naval Hospital Bremerton in Washington state.

Alex earned a Master of Healthcare Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a law degree from the Widener University Commonwealth Law School. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Connecticut.
